About

Fairfield, WA is located 30 miles Southeast of Spokane; we are a small farming community that has been celebrating Flag Day since 1910.

A brief excerpt from USFLAG.ORG  “Flag Day – the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777.”  An interesting bit of information: it was not until August 3rd, 1949, that President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14th of each year as National Flag Day.  It is very cool that our small community was celebrating Flag Day 39 years PRIOR to the official designation of Flag Day!!

Start a family tradition and come celebrate with the town that has the longest running history of celebrating Flag Day!  A day for the entire family.  You can kick it off with the Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast, there’s a Fun Run, Children’s Parade, Grand Parade, local craft Vendors, along with food and coffee vendors, as well as a beer garden.  There is a softball game, hands only CPR and a dance later that evening.  Bring your chairs and blankets and make it a day.  Lower park offers a playground and skate park.  Upper park offers basketball courts, tennis courts and there are grills available allowing you the option to pack in your own food.

We look forward to celebrating the day with you!

  1. This is a great website, especially for a small town. I have always enjoyed coming home to help celebrate Flag Day. This year our graduating class celebrates its 50 year graduation reunion.

I learned more about my hometown from the website. Nice compilation of related resources, Gail!
